Great public spaces define world class cities

What defines a world class city? Some of the things we can think of include: architecture, nightlife, art and culture, infrastructure and transit. We also believe that public spaces should be right at the top of that list.

Public spaces are one of the most important fibers in the “fabric of society” and they help define the character of a city. As the centers of community life, public spaces bring people together and they connect us to the city and to each other.

Public spaces are an important part of a city’s political and social life; which is why our Library District Condominiums will be connected to a community park and to Toronto’s 100th public library.

In addition, because we strongly believe in the power of public spaces, we’ll also be exploring and analysing their  importance in our new Public Spaces series. We’ll also be taking a look at the past present and future of  libraries in Toronto and the world in our Library series.

Great public spaces define world class cities and we’re excited about using our blog to celebrate their importance in shaping our cities.
