5 Fall Festivals You Won’t Want to Miss

We’re about a week into fall, and it certainly feels like it. With leaves blowing on the sidewalks, and the air noticeably cooler, it’s hard to believe that summer was so recent! The memories of outdoor summer music festivals, and street festivals feel like a not-so-distant memory. Thankfully, autumn in Toronto is a beautiful season, and full of fun things to do. Here are 5 fall festivals that are coming up and definitely worth checking out! 

 

Nuit Blanche – October 1st – 2nd

An annual event that has become one of the city’s most popular, Nuit Blanche returns this fall, from sunset on October 1st to sunrise on October 2nd. Hosted city-wide, across a variety of venues, there will be over 110 contemporary art installations and experiences to take part in. Did we mention it’s totally free?!?

 

International Festival of Authors – October 20th – 30th

The International Festival of Authors was first hosted in Toronto in 1974. Taking place at the Harbourfront Centre, this event presents the best international novelists, poets, playwrights, short story writers, and biographers. The 2016 lineup includes Canadian favourites such as Margaret Atwood, Emma Donoghue, and Michael Ondaajte to name a few. Tickets can be purchased through the Harbourfront Centre Box Office.

 

Cask Days Beer Festival – October 23rd – 25th

Hosted at Evergreen Brickworks, Cask Days Beer Festival celebrates its 11th annual cask-conditioned beer fest. Offering over 300 beers and ciders, with thousands of attendees, there’s no better way to celebrate cask ale. Get your tickets and all other info here.

 

Indie Music Week – November 15th – 20th
