So, we’ve been so caught up with resolutions that we hadn’t even taken the time to sit down and hash out a new reading list for January. And to think, our resolution was to procrastinate more. So much for that. Anyway, check out our books you should be reading this month.
The Wolf of Wall St. – What? We saw the movie and had to see if the book was as ridiculous. In all seriousness, this book reads like the Jordan Belfort is bragging, but it’s a brutally honest look into what went on in the stock market in the 90’s.
The Goldfinch – A haunting story about love and obsession, a 13-year-old boy survives an accident that kills his mother, and sends his life hurtling down an entirely unique path. It’s a haunting piece of work, but what great prose doesn’t wax philosophical and keep you up until 3am, calling your mom to tell her you love her. Or was that just us?
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared – Okay, After that last one we need a bit of a light-hearted read and this is just the thing. A man turns 100 years old and is put in a nursing home. Not happy with this situation, during his hundredth birthday party he just up and leaves and goes on all sorts of exciting adventures. This extremely light-hearted international best-seller will have your sides splitting and your heart fully warmed.
These books are available on Amazon, iTunes or your friendly neighbourhood library. That’s convenient, there’s one going up right next door to Library District. Would you look at that.
