No one was probably more pleased than us when Market Wharf’s favourite neighbour St. Lawrence Market, was named the world’s best food market by National Geographic.
This accolade is hardly surprising though, since St. Lawrence Market has a wide selection of culinary treasures to satisfy any market aficionado.
Because we’re really big fans of St. Lawrence Market and everything that it has to offer, we’ve decided to do a regular series on some our favorite finds from the market.
First up this week is Ponesse foods. It’s a family affair, run by Rocco and his sons Mike and Mario and they have the biggest and best selection of fresh fruits and vegetables in the market.
They’re also a major supplier for restaurant’s here in Toronto so they definitely know their stuff. You’re also sure to find a high variety of quality fruits and vegetables at a great price.
Their fresh strawberries are to die for! We also highly recommend that you buy and bite into one of their succulent pomegranates or try their deliciously ripe mangoes.
Make sure to get there early in the day so that you can snatch up the freshest supplies!
Are you a regular at St.Lawrence Market? What’s your favourite thing at the market?
