We’ve kept a tight lid on all things Library District related over the past few months. But that lid comes off today. You see, we wanted to make sure that everything is perfect before we revealed anything to you. And perfect it is! So without wasting anymore time, let’s get straight to business.

Our Market Wharf project has received rave reviews for its striking contribution to Toronto’s skyline and for the remarkable design of its interiors. The man largely responsible for Market Wharf’s interior design is Michael Krus, architect and co-founder of the award winning architecture, interior design, and development consulting firm, TACT Design.

We recently caught up with Michael to discuss his work and his inspiration for the design of the north and south lobbies of Market Wharf.

No one was probably more pleased than us when Market Wharf’s favourite neighbour St. Lawrence Market, was named the world’s best food market by National Geographic.

A recent study from The Toronto Board of Health shows that Torontonians highly value walkable neighbourhoods. The study also suggests that Torontonians strongly desire specific neighbourhood features such as shops and services and a variety of small and medium sized food stores within walking distance of their homes.

What better way to welcome Spring than with 300 pieces of stunning art from Toronto’s established and up and coming independent artists?

This is definitely not your ordinary art show. The Walnut Studios Spring Fever Art Show and Sale will give you a chance to experience art in the “raw” by viewing original works of art in the artist’s creative space.

You’ll get to see the paint filled palettes, the preliminary sketches, the dusty work benches, and the splashes of colour on the floor!  You’ll also get to meet the artists themselves, hear their stories and discuss the creative process.

The festivities begin at noon with an open house followed by a reception at 7pm to 11pm with a cash bar and live Dj’s spinning tunes throughout the night.

On display will be an eclectic and diverse blend of art including painting, fashion, jewellery, photography, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, film and more.

To top it all off, you’ll able to purchase and walk away with the original works of art for yourself and your digs.

So if spending a day with Toronto’s local and independent talent in a beautifully renovated vintage building in the heart of the King West sounds like your thing, then mark your calendar for May 12th!

What do a condo developer and a chocolate maker have in common? At first glance, not very much. But on a recent visit to SOMA chocolate at King and Spadina, we discovered that we both share a love and appreciation for King West and its history and heritage.

Greetings one and all to our official Context Development blog.

Our venture into this mad world of social media is long overdue (hey, we’ve been busy!), but we’re here now and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.

We want to reach out to you, the people, and let you know what we’re all about, what we have coming up, and what’s going on in this amazing city of ours. Yes, we’ll be giving all the latest information and exclusive insights into all of our projects, but we want to have some fun while we’re doing it.

So what can you expect to see when you visit us? Well, we have tons of information on Library District and Market Wharf that you won’t find anywhere else. We’ll be going oot and aboot in our local neighbourhoods, and we’ll have contests to beat the band!! Why? Because who doesn’t love a good ‘ol contest!

And that’s just the proverbial tip of the proverbial iceberg. We have great things in store and we’re just getting started.

We’d very much like if you could join us on Twitter (don’t just follow, say HELLO!) – we’ve had a ton of fun interacting with the Toronto community so far (and we found THESE) and want more more more! We’re also on Pinterest too – it’s one bandwagon that we’re jumping on with both feet. So feel free to check us out and say hi.

We’d also love to hear from you on what you’d like to see us cover on the blog so please don’t be shy – comment boxes need love too.

Spring has sprung in Toronto! To celebrate, we headed down to the Market Wharf construction site on a gorgeous sunny afternoon to take some new shots of the site and to find out what the builders have been up to lately.

Last Friday we sent the Twitterverse into a dougnut frenzy when we decided to give away two dozen Glory Hole Doughnuts as part of our latest Context Contest.
